I first met him in 2018 when he installed plantation shutters and blinds throughout my custom-built townhouse in Pennington. He was far more knowledgeable than the Smith & Noble representative and was able to leverage his expertise and creativity to figure out solutions to obstacles, e.g. Unevenly shaped windows. He takes pride in his work.
In 2021 I hired him again to install plantation shutters and blinds throughout a new custom built riverfront home in Washington Crossing. There were many decisions to be made. Howard was never pushy but extremely helpful when I asked for his guidance. He was honest and upfront about pricing and delivery times. I always felt like I could trust him.

Coming out of a pandemic, it isn’t easy to complete home projects given supply chain issues, lack of committed and available workers and general delays. However, Howard put every concern at ease. He easily handled the different requirements of the three rooms I needed window covering for. The process was seamless and professional!
Howard’s communication was fantastic. He called when he said he would, and arrived for each appointment on time! During my ordering process there was a question as to which color shade I wanted. When our notes differed and our memories were fuzzy, Howard didn’t just guess or “go with what he thought”. He insisted he make the trip back to my house to look again and reconfirm. He went out of his way to make sure the order was correct.
Howard’s product knowledge and recommendations were top notch. He was well versed in the wide assortment of materials and styles, and provided great advice on which choices to make. He is a true master of his craft.

To whom it may concern,
I recently had six Hunter Douglas window treatments installed in my home. They look fabulous and I am only sorry that I had not had this done sooner. They were installed by Howard Kaye the owner of Innovative Shade Systems.
A friend of mine had recommended him to me because she said he did excellent work at terrific prices and he was also very neat.
Howard was that and more. Innovative Shade Systems has been in business for a long while. That was important to me as I did not want to work with someone who would disappear in the night if a problem arose and could not be found.
There are so many choices with Hunter Douglas window treatments. Howard was incredibly helpful, using his expertise to help me choose the ones that fit my lifestyle the best.

Howard Kaye of Innovative Shades helped me select the perfect blinds for my home and office. I described the look that I wanted and he offered me many choices of fabric, colors and design. I ended up with a gorgeous shade of grey, top down, bottom up, no cord shade for my office. I received many compliments on my window treatment. My home window treatments came out perfectly as well. His suggestions, experience and creativity helped me stay in my price range and achieve the look that I wanted.
Howard helped me with the window treatment design, did all the measurements (which were exact) and installed the products himself. He is knowledgeable, detail oriented, efficient, and friendly. He also is a very hard worker. The fact that he has been providing window treatments for 38 years makes him an expert installer.

It truly gives me great pleasure to present Mr. Howard Kaye as the person who measured, and subsequently installed 19 Norman wood shutters in my newly constructed house. Howard is not only a very hard working man, he is equally detail oriented, and spends as much time as it takes with installation in order to not only satisfy the customer, but also to satisfy himself that the job was done with great care and precision.
I was with Howard from day one (measuring the windows), through the delivery to my home of the shutters, and also for a couple of the days when Howard was installing them. I will point out that he spent FIVE days at my house with installation in order to take his time, and to get the work done to perfection. It was during these days that I easily took note of Howard’s honesty, and integrity, as well as his skills with installing my (some awfully large and in awkward location!!) custom shutters. He did note that he has been doing this for 37 years!
Please do not hesitate in using Howard. I was thoroughly more than impressed with him, and I truly do believe that you will be also.
